Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.Philippians 4:8
My portion of the verse is Lovely and good report. In a world where there is so much ugliness and negative news, it’s hard to find Lovely and good report. In this season of giving, how about making some Lovely and good report of your own
Buy a hot chocolate for the person behind you in the drive through.
Push the cart for a hassled mother or elderly person while you’re out shopping.
Take some homemade cookies to a neighbor.
Visit a nursing home and pass out Christmas cards.
Bag up some gently used clothes and take them to the nearest shelter.
Invite someone unable to get “home” for Christmas to celebrate with your family.
Just a few suggestions, but you see where I’m going. I promise, it won’t cost much and you’ll have plenty of “Lovely and good report” to sustain you through the winter.
Merry Christmas from Karla and Mitchell Black
