Happy New Year from Valley View

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Harrison and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your families.  In just a couple of days we’ll all embark on a brand new year. Three hundred sixty five days with nothing written on them, yet, but good intentions. Many of us will make resolutions.

I’m going to lose weight, I’m going to exercise more, I’m going to break that bad habit. Maybe…I’m going to be more faithful to my church, or read my Bible every day. How about-- I’m going to pursue the dream I’ve been putting off. I’m going to plan that vacation my family has been begging to take...

So many good intentions, all filled with virtue. As you look toward that brand new slate 2013 represents, please remember that every day you put those things off, is one day less in your life to get them done. So instead of an overwhelming laundry list of things that you’re going to do, can I make a suggestion?  Pick one, make it a matter of prayer, and stick with it. Then when you stand on the backside of 2013 you can offer praise to God for a job well done instead of shaking your head in regret and making the same list of promises for 2014.

What’s your single resolution?

Happy New Year!!

P.S. We had a computer glitch for the last couple of weeks. Karla and Terri would be pleased if you took the time to scroll down to read their posts on their parts of the verse.

***Don’t read and run. Please take a few minutes to visit the page tabs to your right. Terri has an interview with Lena Nelson Dooley. Lena is here to talk about her three book McKenna's Daughters series.  Leave a comment anywhere on the blog to be registered to win a copy of Maggie's Journey on Jan 4th. Karla welcomes Elizabeth Maddrey and Tanya Eavenson to her page for a sneak peak at their January releases. Callie has a special devotion prepared for us by Anne Baxter Campbell . Pam just posted a terrific recipe for white Chocolate cherry almond fudge.***
